Fashion Trends

Posts

It may be that I am leaving my teenage years, but I am increasingly trying to be more practical and sustainable in the way I consume.

I don’t have endless amounts of money & space to use on every little micro trend. Most of us agree that it is expensive, wasteful, and unsustainable to keep hoping onto every new trend. Also, I want a more independent style identity that separates myself from my friends, people I pass on the street and everything I see on social media.

But I, probably like you, still like them (or at least some of them) – they are fun and exciting. I can incorporate elements that I love into my daily wardrobe and still feel myself and they help me grow my personal style.

So, I have determined that the best way I can have fun with trends, but maintain a sense of self, all while limiting how much I consume, is to pick out my favourite pieces from trends. Items that I think are still ‘me’, so that they are timeless for my wardrobe.

My trend top-picks page has therefore incorporated items that I already have, but fit these new trends and aesthetics. Plus, all my designer bags are thrifted, not that I have that many. So, please find tips for shopping designer second-hand here.

The difficulty of this, especially when putting these ideas into a blog, is that everyone’s idea of timeless is different. Some of you will not agree with these selections, but that is what makes fashion fun.
